Stevie Nicks, the lead singer for the band Fleetwood Mac, has long been known for her unique style both on stage and off stage. She manages to beautifully blend vintage, mystical, gypsy, street urchin and gothic styles to come up with her own style.

There are many stores, the traditional brick-and-mortar and online ones, that specialize in selling clothes inspired by Stevie Nicks’ apparels or they sell clothes that are replica of what she wears. Stevie Nicks has always been known for her billowing chiffon skirts, shawls, top hats and layers of lace. She owes her fantastic clothes to Margi Kent, a designer from California, who has been designing her clothes from the 1970s.

Nicks was instrumental in starting the 6 inches high suede platform boots trend in black, cream, tan and maroon. She actually wore these because she was not too tall (1.55 meter or 5 feet 1 inches) and felt ridiculous standing next to Mick Fleetwood, who was rather tall. Stevie continued to wear the platform boots even when they went out of style completely.

Stevie also was famous for wearing Dickens-style gentlemen’s formal top hats, which she started wearing in the late 1970s. In the early 1980s, she changed this style to velvet berets with plume feathers, which were reminiscent of Renaissance poets. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, she started sporting fashionable ladies hat and she is still seen even today wearing a black top hat with giant plumes.

Many of Stevie Nicks apparels have been inspired by her live performances, especially her shawls and capes. Her trademark clothes have ended up making Stevie unique and timeless.
